The song was written by Troisnyx in 2012, close to the anniversary of her mother's death. This was initially a submission to the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch of that same year. In her own words:

"You see, I imagined my mum singing this to my dad. And then, I imagined him joining in the song. Their arms would go round each other in a passionate embrace. My dad would kiss my mum passionately. Then, under the bright moonlight, they would dance. My mum would place her head against my dad's chest, to hear the beating of his heart. My dad would firmly hold my mum's hand and lead her in the dance. As she twirled, the sight ravished him very much. I imagined myself doing the same towards a man who would love me so much: every beat of his heart would make my heart pound, every beat would make me want to give myself to him."

Today, this song (the music, down to the lyrics and voices) serves as a reminder of what marriage truly is about.
